Why is an anti-aliasing filter required in a decimator?
Pick an answer to check it.
Answer: A. It removes high-frequency signal components that would otherwise be reproduced as lower frequency components
Lowering the sample rate lowers the Nyquist limit. Without an anti-aliasing filter first, higher frequency components would fold back and appear as false lower frequencies.
Tip: Filter first, or aliases appear.
