How does an ohmmeter measure the resistance of a circuit or component?
Pick an answer to check it.
Answer: A. By applying a small current and measuring the resulting voltage
An ohmmeter sends a small known current through the part and measures the voltage that results. Using Ohm's law (R = E / I), it works out the resistance.
Tip: Small current in, measure the voltage, compute ohms.
