Why should the outer jacket of coaxial cable be resistant to ultraviolet light?
Pick an answer to check it.
Answer: D. Ultraviolet light can damage the jacket and allow water to enter the cable
Sunlight's ultraviolet (UV) light can break down a cable's outer jacket and make it crack. Once it cracks, water can get in and damage the cable. That is why outdoor coax needs a UV-resistant jacket.
Tip: Sun cracks the jacket, then water gets in.
