Which of the following can eliminate distorted voice transmissions?
Pick an answer to check it.
Answer: C. Adding a clip-on ferrite “choke” to the microphone cable to prevent the transmitted signal from feeding back into the transmitter
Sometimes RF from your own transmission travels back along the microphone cable and gets into the radio, distorting your voice. A clip-on ferrite choke on the mic cable blocks that RF. Adding extra feed line or resetting the radio would not fix it.
Tip: Ferrite choke stops RF sneaking back in on the mic cord.
