What is the effect of excessive microphone gain on SSB transmissions?
Pick an answer to check it.
Answer: B. Distorted transmitted audio
If the microphone gain is too high on SSB, the audio overdrives the transmitter. The result is distorted transmitted audio that is hard to understand and can splatter onto nearby frequencies. It does not change the SWR or the frequency.
Tip: Too much mic gain = distortion and splatter.
