Why should a 5-ampere fuse never be replaced with a 20-ampere fuse?
Pick an answer to check it.
Answer: C. Excessive current could cause a fire
A 20-amp fuse in place of a 5-amp fuse lets excessive current flow, which could cause a fire. The wiring and parts were designed for 5 amps, and they can overheat long before a 20-amp fuse blows. Always replace a fuse with the same rating.
Tip: Same fuse rating only, or risk fire.
