Why are simplex UHF signals rarely heard beyond their radio horizon?
Pick an answer to check it.
Answer: C. UHF signals are usually not propagated by the ionosphere
UHF signals usually pass right through the ionosphere instead of bending back to Earth. Without that help, simplex UHF signals rarely go much beyond the radio horizon. There is no FCC distance limit.
Tip: UHF goes straight through the ionosphere; it's mainly line-of-sight.
